Faces. Aren't Him.

The many depictions of Jesus. =] I think it's chronologically placed.
Jen was telling us about what people might say about the unity in worship min. I think we're united. From what I see happening in this ministry, it looks like everyone is on the same plane with one another. Even though I'm not exactly close with most of them, I will never ever say this fellowship of great guys and girls are not united. Haha...
And it's my fault if people aren't warming up to me. I'm not putting enough effort to know them well. So there ya go.
There's my two cents la on the issue.
Time for world cup.. whooooooo!
Opti Pesti
I wonder what's wrong with our society. You have the normal people who go about doing things, and you have another group of sex-crazy addicts that vandalize toilet cubicle doors with 'advertisments'.
Yeah, I've seen alot of those 'ads' these few days in public toilets.
But oh well, I have no right to judge anything. =/
OKAY END OF BLOCK 2! YES! I can finally get a FULL night's sleep. I have been up till 3-4 am these past nights doing work. Kinda brain-dead now. Ha-ha. Can you hear my robotic laughter? Okay, obviously you don't. If you do, you probably need more sleep than me.
Well anyway, let me post something I found out recently : more and more shows are making sure you never get a resolution in the plot's ending so that you can go deduce what happens next yourself.
One perfect example is Daniel Powter's Bad Day. It got Clarence arguing that the girl went into the taxi and left without getting to know the guy, and me arguing back that they exchanged numbers or at least got progress in their relationship. Pessimist vs Optimist. haha..
So you see how things can change drastically just on the way you think? It's good to be pessimistic sometimes, Clarence said that it's, "preparing for the worse,". That's true. It's how you see situations.. some situations you really just have to realistic, and others, optimistic. Like when there's a fire in your kitchen you can't be optimistic and think it would extinguish itself before it reached your room. And you can't put your loved one out of life support just because he/she is in a coma. Regardless of the outcome, you need faith for both. That's the thing I love about God and his faith. =) you can't do without it. Anyway this video is awesome la...
And sorry guys for still hogging on some stuff I borrowed. Like VCDs especially haha. Been too busy to watch them. Speaking of shows, watched Silent Hill today. Don't watch it! It's kinda blasphemous and gives you a headache right after the movie. Like a hangover. Haha.
PS: So sad Nancy's gonna fail Shannon's Drawing Fundamentals even though she did all her work. Haha, it's so annoying la... and Wen Hao has a body that I'm trying to work towards. Haha.(OK Hanif don't laugh when you see this) And surprisingly, he isn't as er... 'superficial' as the ruggers in our St. Andrew's. VSC people are alll coool... hehehehe
Being Brothers for 11 Years
Whooo! Today is my brother's birthday. Hmm let's see what I can compile about him.
I remember the first time I saw him, in that baby deck, wrapped in powder blue cloth and just doing actions babies do. I was 6. At that time, he just looked like another average baby to me. I remember when they first brought him home. I was happy. I think it's because I've never had a living companion. Lol... not even a dog whatsoever. So yeah, it was a pretty big deal.
But then I realise being a big brother isn't easy. You have to drop some bad habits so that your brother will look up to you as a role model. You have to discipline, talk, listen, etc. It's not as easy as ABC. At least you know As are before the Bs and so on. But brotherhood... it's like parenthood, just that you don't give him the allowance.
Haha. Anyway, happy 11 years on the planet Joel!
And as usual, you've been a crazy wild fanatic. So far. Haha.
Hopefully one day when he grows up, he doesn't hate me for being his brother. And file lawsuits at me trying to fight for my Dad's properties. Or become a delinquent and start smoking and stuff. Then again, come on.. I don't think I'm too bad of a kor kor who teaches good morals. Gahahaha *head inflates*
And Cherine cried today. Jayne kept telling her that her portrait of me didn't look like me (John), but like Pope John Paul. haha so bad sia... in the end she was laughing and crying at the same time. Cause we were funny and she was sad it turned out like that. But HEY.. you could still tell it was me. Haha.. wonder what's up with drawing my face. Faith and Dilys chose my face too and Faith gave me a dark, black lipstick for my lips.. ahahaha. PUNK ROCKSTAR SHAN YU!
Anyway, hope peeps who went/involved in SF2006 have fun. haha.. oh well, couldn't go. Whoo I liked jamming two nights ago. I had to think of out my own tenor parts to accompliment Chris. Kinda cool. Haha, David came with an elastic Mr Bean mask...and they had fun wearing it.. haha =]
World Cup rocks. Must watch man... haha ARGENTINA AND UKRAINE GGOGOGO!
Peach Folly
WHOOOOOO I finally got my training bag. Haha, won it off ebay 2 weeks ago and I finally met up with the seller. Haha...
8 Assignments to finish.
Haha... design school is tough man...
Rah?
Haha. FEVER. Just got it today.
The doctor asked if I wanted an M.C for tomorrow. Yeah! I totally want it! But tomorrow's too busy for a day off. Tomorrow's Creth assignment submission and movie lesson: Cars. (Yeah, we have a lesson on going to the theaters and watching Cars.. super cool.. haha). Gonna watch it for Fillmoreeeee... hehehe... *rubs palms and sniggers*
I'm about 60% done with Creth. Haha. I know it still sounds super far from tomorrow morning's deadline.
I noticed alot of girls like to use 'RAH'. haha. Why why why?
Well anyway, Seriously lagging behind on Shan's Grey's Anatomy cd. Only watched 5 episodes so far. Shan don't get pissed! "RAH!"
OHOH, Thank YOU Cheryl for your T-Shirt. Haha, sweet design. Scissors Paper Stone! Speaking of clothes. Gar Meng didn't even bargained for his 3 quads when we went out yesterday. $40+! That's kinda ex. Nvm, I'll go learn bargaining skills from Pepper and use it next time =D. Oh yeah, we saw two Ang Mohs at BK who were at the counter saying "I want this, I want that," instead of "Can I have this, can I have that,"
See? The difference between East and West. No offence to polite ang mohs out there. =]
Aaron's flying back at the end of this month! Haha, time to expect more goofings. =D
Look Up
Sometimes I wish things were easier. I hate it when thing become so superficial you feel like you're just trying to be someone your not to please people. It just feels wrong.
Gotta wipe that stupid fake smile off my face.
Last night during service, I felt a vibe. Like a God-powered nudge. It told me it's really time to stop being so laid back in church and worship ministry. Stop being so all-smiles-no-talk. Yeah, I know I am too all-smiles-no-talk. People tell me that they know I have something to say, but I always keep it to myself, making it look like I'm some unsociable moron.
Haha, I guess they're right.
But I guess it's the insecurity of things. You never know if something you say would come out right or not. It's so mind-blasting if you think into things too much. I feel like a souless person now. The assignments in school eats up your time to evaluate and absorb the spirit of it all. Then in the process of doing it, you don't actually understand what you are doing. You're just doing assignments to get marks, marks to make you pass a module, passing modules to pass your course, passing course to.... then what's next? You see, I don't even know. It's always so linkless that it feels stupid doing some things.
haha. Anyway I'm just ranting.
I like these past two week's services. God-driven men who really have a cause = people like Paul Andrew and David Pierce. =D It'd be cool if I turn out like that - God driven. I don't know if I would eventually become a pastor. I mean its the future right? Who knows what lies ahead. Maybe I would become a roadside sweeper around serangoon for all I know.
Well I EXCEPTIONALLY like Pastor David's speech. =D
You gotta hear this.
Don't push that pleasure button.
OH yeah! Please donate to my new Bible fund. A buck would make my day. =D
Random Queens Like Her
A super bored girl called LIANE wanted me to blog about this:
Liane is lovely, Liane is sweet, Liane is kind. Liane has a boyfriend called Freddo who she thinks is the loveliest and tastiest.
Tastiest?
Ok Liane, happy now? Erghhh. Lol.
I Wish I Was As Volatile
Amazing.
It's funny - this thing called friendship. We are all supposed to be ourselves, but sometimes we have to apologize for being ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I am not ranting about anyone or anything. I'm just fascinated about this 'give and take' part of relationships. It's pretty neat.
Well anyway, this 7 days have been a huge work-it-out week.
I can feel all of us are beginning to actually open our true selves out. I think it's the time we've spent together. Time must really = Comprehension. You can now see abit into the shades hidden behind our social barricades. Haha. W're starting to pour into each other's lives, becoming a huge inseparable mix. Oh. 'Us' means the VSC folks.
Assignments are also starting to PILE UP. ()*#^@^^@!!
And as usual - spending too much money to save. We went to watch She's The Man today after the girls went to Bugis Street to shop (we tagged for prolly 2 hours). Pepper says it's good-boyfriend training. The movie has a crappy storyline, but kinda hilarious. This is my second time watching a comedy with JT! You can expect what happened next. We were laughing even when no one else is.. haha. Weirdos. And after that, Clarence, JT, Dilys and I were crapping stupid jokes like - What If Fart was visible? Haha... You don't wanna know what scenarios we came up with. It was like an amateur Whose Line Is It Anyway. hahahaha
I hope KP's doing fine with his condition. And Sam too. Gonna pray really hard for them. =)
I'm beginning to dig Apple products reeeeeaaallly much. Hur hur hur =D There's still alot of work I have to complete. Alot of books to read, alot of self-reflection time to catch up. I miss those holidays where you have all the time in the world to think of everything in the world. Now, it's all assignments, assignments assignments. It's hard to catch up with yourself.
PS: Shannon is a great Almighy Macbook Pro teacher. Lol....
Late Nights On.
Watched Benchwarmers just now.
Hahaa.... actually earlier today JT and I wanted to go watch The Omen. Yeap, that ultra-satanic show. But I was kinda reluctant. JT somehow persuaded me... and then we sorta forced Clarence to go (even though he was freaked cause it was 6/6/06 and we're watching it. And even though he only had 4 bucks).. haha, wanted him to come so we can pray that we won't get too engrossed with the story, and just watch it for the horror.
Haha, Clarence was so spooked he actually pestered Hanif over the phone. Bombarding him with questions about the movie.
"Has the movie created an impact on your life?"
"Is it scary?"
"Does it leave a lingering sensation of fear in you?"
Haha, Hanif was so pissed with him, he suddenly shot, "Aiya, just go watch it la!" and he hung up! HAHA. Clarence was totally SNUBBED by Hanif! GAahahaha!
In the end we watched The Benchwarmers, cause The Omen was sold out.
When The Omen was sold out, we actually bought tickets for The Nun instead. Haha. Cause it was 8 pm and we wanted to spook ourselves at night. But then we changed our minds after we bought the ticket. So JT went up to the same ticketer and requested for a change of tickets. Haahahaha... we must've irritated him. Lol.. But he smiled and just changed for us, even telling us that Benchwarmers was a good movie. Commendable service man.
Haha.... luckily we didn't watch The Nun too. Cause Benchwarmers was SO MUCH more funny and exciting! I was laughing so hard I think I have a sore throat now... And JT's laughter is super contagious lllaaaaa. Once she bursts out laughing, I can't help but laugh too. And she was laughing 98% of the movie. Yeah, so I laughed about 97% alongside with her. And Clarence was inbetween us two summore! Ahahaha... his ears must've be so pained. =D
Benchwarmers is a MUST WATCH. Especially when this boy in the movie spits.
AHAhahahahahaha!
Wrong Side Of A Parallel Universe
GAHAHAhhahahaHAHAhAhahahahahahaHAhahaha!
I got a Mac Book Pro!
Haha, wow. I didn't expect to get it so soon, cause I was telling my Dad that the school PC Fair only starts around June. Actually, I didn't even expect him to buy me one.
But oh well, good relations beget good gifts. LOL. I make it sound too easy...
We were just carousing around the Suntec PC Fair, and I spotted Harvey Norman selling the mac book pro. Instinctively, we landed up listening to the salesperson as he delivered his pitch about the mac book's functions/accesories/price etc. And it happened to be cheaper than what Shan bought in school a few months back.
So whala - A nod of head, a flash of credit card, and that whopping 3.3k machine was ours.
Absolutely grateful to my folks. Haha.
But then I told my Dad the mac would be useless to me unless I got Photoshop + Illustrator in it. And he was kinda stoned for a sec. Haha. THAT is a problem for the future! I'll just try my luck borrowing those programmes from Shan or YK. Hehe. Oh yeah, I don't have internet connection on my mac yet. Haha. BUMMER.
I've recently grown a fetish for the conventional camera. You know, those cams that existed in the 90s? Those you put the film rolls in and snap here snap there. I just love it man. It's super VINTAGE. Ahaha. Yeap, I am a traditional orbid freak. Ahahaaa =D
Signing off..
GahahAHAhahahaahhaahaaaHAha.......
Cruising The Far East
Went shopping with Pepper, Faith, Dilys and Clarence after DrFun at Far East Plaza today. I tell you girls can REALLY shop! They make it seem so easy to spend hours on your feet, walking around shopping centres.
Well I can't la. Spend most of the time there stoning cause I was freaking tired, while the others seem to have abundant energy. Especially Clarence la. Forever can't stop talking... rotten tomatoes. He will always find something lame to say. I think Faith is hooked on his 'jokes'. She just laughs at him all the time. Non-stop... Lol.
Clarence also has a girl's fashion taste sia. He cultivated it from years of shopping with his elder sister. Whatever clothes/earrings he picks is what the girls will chorus together - "WAH SO NICE!". He's such a lady-killer man. Confirm grow up will be surrounded by hordes of girls.. all desperate for his attention. Haha, lucky I'm not that charming. I'll be just standing behind them, smiling and shaking my head.
Me: Look at that guy's hair, wah. I want that kind sia... smooth and rigid.
Clar: .... Huh what you mean?
Me: His hair is smooth and rigid la
Clar: You mean soft la.
Me: .................... ya. Soft.
Clar: LOL. "smooth and rigid," *flashes how-stupid-can-you-get look*
Me: But your hair is then counted soft what.. his one isn't leh.
Clar: Mine is SOFTER.
Me: ...
Random conversation. Lolll...
Oh yea. Pepper is now our DA JIE! Haha. She hates it when people call her that.. somehow it gives her goosebumps. So all the more we're doing it to her! Ahaha... I've grown a habit when I sit down to dine with Pepper - taking the pepper sprinkler from the seasoning stack and placing it infront of her. LOL. Yea I know it's damn lame. But oh well - I'm SHAN YU right? Known for doing retarded things. Bwahahahahaha...
K, I obviously need to sleep.
lol
Pineapples?
Wooo.. it's already Friday morning!
Hi, I'm just here cause I'm slacking from Creative thinking homework.
We were given 30 boxes to fill with creative ideas of a fruit. I chose pineapple. So far, I've gotten 17 done. 17 miserable looking ideas. Nowhere near the standards of a normal designer. But what the char kuey tiao, I just wanna meet that DEADLINE. Haha. At this rate I'll still be up by 3 am. Anyway, some big events that are running in my mind:
S idol.
Paul Onehill! Wait. I mean TWOhill! He's great man... well he doesn't sound that great. But his style is awesome. It's amazing he can see through with all the hair brushing across 3 quads of his face. Anyway my brother thinks he looks like a monster.
Haha.
