Ryan McGilney - I Know Where The Summer Goes
Ryan McGilney is a well-known photographer in our side of town. His works are surreal, with a spoonful of experimental techniques, awkward and seemingly 'amateur' camera angles, and professional colour finishes. Labels: music, photography
The following are from his latest collection I Know Where The Summer Goes. The concept is simple, the work innocent and naive, yet it emanates something powerful, something most of us desire but have lost it in our childhood - freedom.
And you'd be excited to know, that he's also collaborating with Sigur Ros in their upcoming album, með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, or With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly.

I love ambiguous work. The way you never really know what you're going to expect out of a person's art. That trust of the unknown when you go to a museum show or a gig of someone's artistry that you've never experienced before.
Peter (he just calls himself that on his webpage - coolness? We think so) isn't trying to capture your attention in this world where every student designer (hopefully never us) is screaming to be heard. He simply presents his intriguing, critique-worth collages on a minimalistic website. The result? Is a well-packed series ourpermanence respects and adores.

Mate Steinforth goes under the name of mateuniverse. Born in 1977, he began working on graphic arts as a teenager in Hanover, Germany. From the looks of all of it, he has interesting and astounding work, tons of imagery that will make your jaw-drop, eyes go wide open, and mutter to yourself "How did he do all that?! I want to do all that as well!!" Okay maybe you're not thinking about that that per se... but I definitely am.

Guilherme Marconi
Labels: graphic design, illustration

Marconi is a Brazilian illustrator, his work is thickly inspired by his rich cultural background, with amazing use of colours, objects and prints, to create one of a kind illustrative collages. The ones you see here are from his constantly updated personal project series: My Schizophrenic Brain. And judging from his works, I can only admit - what an apt title.

Marilyn Minter
I honestly do not believe that there is anyone out there who does not own a t-shirt. The most convenient clothing is not just comfy but a canvas to many. Including your favourite threadless, uniqlo, graniph etc. Be it shameless self-expression or subtle poetry, designing a t-shirt frees you to get away without an explanation. Labels: exhibition, fashion, photography
We like it even more when ts come limited and affordable. This is Gap in collaboration with the Whitney Museum. Purchase
This is my favourite design by current hotshot billboard hogging artist Marilyn Minter. Her photographs exudes the power of an art installation you would see at the biennale.
"It's in the moment when everything goes wrong," she says. "It's when the model sweats. There's lipstick on teeth and the makeup's running."
Knock yourselves out. Best when dirty.
